Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was born on 30 November 1874 at Blenheim Palace in Oxford shire and died on January 24th, 1965. His father was the prominent Tory politician, Lord Randolph Churchill. Churchill attended the Royal Military College, Sandhurst before making an career in the army.
In 1904 he joined the Liberal Party. When the Liberals won the 1905 election, Churchill was appointed undersecretary at the Colonial Office. In 1908 he entered the Cabinet as president of the Board of Trade, becoming home secretary in 1910. He resign after sometime in ww1 then he joined the army, serving for a time on the Western Front. In 1917, he was back in government as minister of munitions. From 1919 to 1921 he was secretary of state for war and air, and from 1924-1929 was chancellor of the exchequer.
He had a warning about the rise of Nazi Germany and the need for British rearmament were ignored. When war broke out in 1939, Churchill became first lord of the Admiralty. In May 1940, Neville Chamberlain resigned as prime minister and Churchill took his place. His refusal to surrender to Nazi Germany inspired the country.

The Higgins boat is made with a flat bottom made of plywood and metal planting to protect troops that were in the boat. Most of the Higgins boats were used by British allies, over 20,000 of the thirty six Higgins boats were made. The Higgins boats was designed in the Higgins industries, the Higgins boat was designed a unique way to carry men and equipment, machines safely from shore. The Higgins boat was 36’6 in length and had a beam of 10’10 the Higgins was a very important thing to world war II. the Higgins boats included and had craft or deployment and supply vessels.
The Higgins boats also were used in every american amphibious operation in European and pacific theaters they needed to be crucial and getting success of theses operations. Higgins boats were to be used to assault an enemy. The Higgins boat was named after Andrew Higgins, he was the designer of most the boats in the Higgins industries. The Higgins boat was built with a 7.62mm machine guns, fuel compartment on the side corners of the boat and the boat also contained open cargo area measured over 17 feet and width 7.9 feet. The Higgins boat also contained a 7 feet tall door/ramp, the boat had an engine of 225 horsepower or a halt-scott gasoline fueled engine of 250 horsepower, this gave the boat a good top speed of 12 knots however the Higgins boat operated poorly and had a capacity of 8,100 lbs.

Winston Churchill was the prime minister during WWII and was accredited with the British victory. He was not one to give up, even when the odds looked grim. Churchill was known for his powerful and rousing speeches which gave hope to a despairing Europe. There were not many picture of this leader without his cigar. He almost always had a cigar with him and would consume between six to ten per day. This particular cigar is not one that churchill smoked but one created in memory of the great leader. The company that produces these, Romeo y Julieta, was one of Churchill's favorites. The company, while they no longer make Churchill's particular flavor, they wanted to remember and honor the great and influential leader the the was and all that he had done for his country and tone world.
